another day, another world away

So again, it's that time of the month, rosters are out and I ended up getting what I wished for.  Relief!  I get to go to the beautiful Zurich, I hope it snows, I miss the snow.  Amsterdam twice!!  The land of wind mills, sex, drugs, and tall people.  Then I'm of to my second home now, Shanghai.  I have been there too many times to count.  Last but not least I finally get to go to Hong Kong, I cant wait...

Brizzy

Bad Religion.  BTW, Nylon costs 10 dollars in Australia!

Brisbane was beautiful and sunny as usual.  I walked around most of the city, across a bridge to the south bank, china town, the valley, that was full of shops selling local designer clothing, some pretty amazing stuff I must say.  I bought a really glamorous 60's style cocktail dress with little mirrors embroidered on the neck line.  It makes me feel like a million bucks.  Not sure where I will wear it though;)  I'm sure it will come in handy though.  I just enjoyed every minute of my time there.  I need to go back soon.  Confession: I have a serious weakness for Australian men... The way they walk, the way they talk... hot hot hot.

I Heart New Zealand

What can I say, I'm head over heels in love with Auckland.  I know I say this every time, but honestly it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever laid eye's on.  Some places just give you this feeling like you belong there, or you should live there, or you have lived there in a past life.  It's lush and green and smells like freshly cut grass and ocean breeze.  It makes you feel so small and so far away from the rest of the world.  It's on a whole other level.  That said, I spent most of the time alone, since it rained a little so allot of the crew just stayed in or hung out at the pub.  I didn't mind at all, I was perfectly content exploring the city and taking photo's.  I had some amazing sushi for breakfast, yes my body clock is so twisted that I can have sushi for breakfast and pancakes for dinner.  I walked along the sea wharf, went up a sky tower, window shopped and walked and walked and walked.  The best part was taking an afternoon nap wrapped up in a big quilt with the windows wide open, listening to the rain.  pure bliss.  Oh and the hotel had an endless supply of New Zealand tea tree shower products that I of course took full advantage of.  In conclusion... I LOVE NZ!

Sleepless in the Sandpit

I'm still on LA time.  I can't sleep.  Gha!  Jet lag can be a killer sometimes.  It's a tough thing to shake.  I have a million things running through my head.  This month has been way too busy.  My refresher exams for work are coming up at the end of the month.  I'm moving across town to a nicer area and larger flat.  It's beautiful!  A five day trip to Brisbane, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand.  I ended up swapping my London for it.  I'm excited for both.  I have not yet been to Auckland so it will be a new experience for me.  I have dreamt it to be full of lush rolling hills of green grass with little white fluffy sheep every where:)  Either way I know it will be beautiful.  Must sleep.  Organizing.  Packing.  Moving.  Studying.  Working.  Working.  Working ... K, night.  Oh, btw, I forgot to mention that there is a Blenz Coffee at the airport in Guanzou.  Can you believe it?  It was the real thing and not a knock off like my bag, hehe. xx

Bad Ass

I just bought a pair.  It will be fun to see how comfortable they will feel in this hot hot heat... Can't wait!  Rule of thumb: Fashion before comfort.

Girl Scouting in LA

So LA was amazing as usual.  Every time I go there I feel like I could stay forever.  Although San Fran has a special place in my heart, I am starting to grow a love for LA as well.  Either way, just being in that part of the world, felt so good, so close to home. The sounds, the smells, the feel. We even flew over Canada on the way there and I got to sit in the cockpit and watch the northern lights, it was pretty surreal.  I had Starbucks and good Mexican food and watched Fresh Prince and Saved by the Bell.  My brother Sonny and his girlfriend Madison live there, so they always take me to different places around the city.  It's been nice getting to know my brother since we didn't grow up together.  He's pretty great, and it's funny, I notice similarities in us every now and then.  We both realized that neither of us know how to spell :)  Anyway, he just got a job as a graphic designer with an American clothing company.  He had an assignment to go around the city and find cute chicks dressed in trendy outfits, they call them style leaders.  He had to take there photo and interview them.  It was pretty fun scouting all the girls in LA.  We realized the guys in LA have way more style, weird.  He even used me, too bad I wasn't dressed very stylish that day.  shucks!

Unforgettable sunset

Guangzhou

Guangzhou was lovely.  We ended up going to Beijing street and a massive fake designer outlet called The Leather Market.  I was also taught how to say " Baby I love you" in Mandarin.  We ended up saying it to all the sales people at the Leather Market.  Their reaction was priceless, it made them laugh and helped with the bartering for sales I think.  We even said it to the security men at the airport, they didn't think it was quite so funny:)

Just one bag this time.  I'm getting better.

Ciao Mein

Turns out I'm flying to Guangzhou, China and not Casablanca.  Good thing I know my airport codes so well, *wink.  I'm pleased with this though, China is really growing on me.  I didn't like it the first time I went.  The whole communist vibe can be a bit drab.  Fun Fact:  In China when you use a public toilette, you will notice many stickers with adds written in mandarin on the walls of the stalls.  Apparently they are adds for selling organs from the black market.  Sick.

Air Hostie

is this considered sexist or politically incorrect?  I went out with an Australian tonight and he referred to me as such...

I guess it's cool in the land down unda'

Almost Gone

Can't eat. Can't sleep.  Can't think.  I'm a pro at forgetting... The end is nigh.

Meet Me In The City Of Angels

So it's that time of the month again, when the rosters come out and I find out where I'll be flying.  The roster gods gave me Casablanca, LA, and London.  Please please please meet me in LA!!!  I'll buy you something pretty in Casablanca.  I could really use some Canadian company right about now.  It's been a rough past few months. I miss home and I miss my people.  I'll be there on October 9th for two days.  You can stay with me at the hotel for free.  Think about it k?
